This Privacy Policy explains how Delack Media Group dba Trail Closet ("Trail Closet," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Trail Closet website, marketplace, applications, features, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

Certain listing information is intentionally public because displaying it is necessary to operate the marketplace.

2. Purchase, Sale, and Transaction Information

When you buy or sell through Trail Closet, we may collect and maintain:

  • Items purchased or sold
  • Purchase price
  • Applicable Trail Closet fees
  • Order totals
  • Buyer and seller identifiers
  • Transaction and order status
  • Order history
  • Return and refund information
  • Dispute information
  • Payout information and status
  • Shipping and delivery information
  • Transaction-related evidence
  • Other records necessary to administer the transaction

Trail Closet may retain a snapshot of relevant listing, pricing, fee, shipping, and return terms associated with a transaction so the terms applicable when the purchase occurred can be preserved.

3. Payment and Payout Information

Trail Closet may use third-party payment processors to process purchases and facilitate seller payouts.

When payment functionality is enabled, payment-card information will be collected and processed by the applicable payment provider. Trail Closet does not intend to store complete payment-card numbers on its own systems.

For sellers, the payment provider may collect information necessary to establish and maintain a payout account, including identity, banking, business, tax, or other verification information.

Trail Closet may receive information from payment providers relating to:

  • Transactions
  • Payment status
  • Payment identifiers
  • Fees
  • Refunds
  • Disputes and chargebacks
  • Payouts and payout status
  • Verification status
  • Other information reasonably necessary to operate the marketplace

The payment provider's handling of information is also governed by its own privacy practices.

4. Shipping and Address Information

When you purchase an item requiring shipping, Trail Closet may collect your shipping address and other information necessary to fulfill the order.

A buyer's shipping information may be provided to the seller of the purchased item when necessary to fulfill the transaction.

Trail Closet may also collect:

  • Carrier
  • Shipping service or method
  • Tracking number
  • Shipment status
  • Delivery status
  • Related shipping records

Users may not use another member's shipping or contact information for advertising, solicitation, or purposes unrelated to completing or resolving the applicable Trail Closet transaction.

Trail Closet may collect and store communications sent through the Service, including messages between buyers and sellers.

Trail Closet may access, use, preserve, or review marketplace communications when reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide messaging functionality
  • Facilitate transactions
  • Respond to support requests
  • Investigate reports
  • Resolve marketplace disputes
  • Detect fraud, scams, or abuse
  • Enforce Trail Closet policies
  • Protect users and Trail Closet

Users should therefore understand that Trail Closet may access marketplace messages for these legitimate operational, safety, legal, and enforcement purposes.

6. Reviews, Reports, Support, and Dispute Evidence

When you interact with Trail Closet's review, reporting, moderation, dispute, or support systems, we may collect:

  • Reviews and ratings
  • Reports concerning listings, photographs, users, messages, or reviews
  • Reasons for reports
  • Content being reported
  • Support requests
  • Communications with Trail Closet support
  • Transaction dispute information
  • Photographs, videos, documents, or other evidence you submit

  • Relevant account, listing, order, or transaction context

Trail Closet may also maintain internal administrative, security, moderation, fraud-prevention, and support records.

Internal notes and security or moderation records are not part of a user's public marketplace profile.

7. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising Technologies

Trail Closet and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, software development kits, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the Service, understand how visitors use Trail Closet, measure performance, maintain security, prevent fraud, and measure and improve our marketing.

These technologies may collect information such as:

  • IP address
  • Browser and device information
  • Operating system
  • Pages viewed
  • Searches
  • Listings viewed
  • Interactions with listings or features
  • Referring website, application, or advertisement
  • Approximate location derived from IP address
  • Date and time of activity
  • Actions such as creating an account, viewing an item, beginning checkout, or completing a purchase
  • Advertising and attribution information
  • Performance and error information

Trail Closet may use analytics and advertising services provided by third parties, which may include Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta (including Meta Pixel), and TikTok.

Depending on our configuration and your privacy choices, these providers may receive information concerning your interactions with Trail Closet and may use cookies, pixels, tags, or similar identifiers to provide analytics, measurement, attribution, advertising, audience, and related services.

Advertising and Meta Pixel

Trail Closet uses advertising and measurement technologies, including Meta Pixel associated with our Meta advertising account and Meta Conversions API, to understand how visitors use Trail Closet, measure the effectiveness of our advertising, attribute actions or purchases to advertising, create or measure audiences, and improve our advertising.

Meta Pixel may collect or transmit information about a visitor's browser or device and interactions with Trail Closet, including:

  • Page views
  • Pages and listings viewed
  • Interactions with Trail Closet
  • Listing creation funnel activity
  • Successful listing publication
  • Checkout initiation
  • Completed purchases
  • Listing or product identifiers
  • Listing or product names
  • Listing prices

  • Browser, device, and technical information normally transmitted through Meta Pixel
  • Information used by Meta for attribution and advertising measurement

Some of the events described above, such as viewing a listing, beginning checkout, completing a purchase, or publishing a listing, may also be sent to Meta from Trail Closet's servers through Meta Conversions API for attribution, measurement, event matching, and advertising performance. Meta Conversions API is used only when you have provided the applicable advertising consent.

Where enabled, Trail Closet uses Meta's Automatic Advanced Matching. Certain information you provide to Trail Closet — currently email address and first and last name — may be transformed or hash-protected and transmitted to Meta to help match website activity with Meta accounts for measurement and advertising purposes. Trail Closet does not currently send Meta phone number, date of birth, gender, precise address, city, state, ZIP code, country, or external user ID through Automatic Advanced Matching.

Trail Closet does not intentionally send sensitive information to Meta through these advertising events.

Meta may process information it receives according to its own privacy policies and terms. You can learn more about how Meta processes information in Meta's Privacy Policy.

Users may have choices regarding cookies, advertising technologies, targeted advertising, or data sharing depending on their location and applicable law.

Where required by applicable law, Trail Closet will obtain consent before using non-essential analytics or advertising technologies.

Users may be able to manage their choices through cookie or privacy controls made available by Trail Closet and through privacy controls offered by applicable third-party providers.

Trail Closet does not intend to transmit the contents of private marketplace messages, full payment-card information, or shipping addresses to advertising platforms for ordinary advertising analytics.

When you access Trail Closet, we and our service providers may automatically collect technical and usage information, which may include:

  • Pages and features accessed

  • Send marketing or marketplace communications where permitted by law and consistent with user choices
  • Understand how Trail Closet is used

Other Trail Closet Users

Some information is shared with other users as necessary to operate the marketplace.

For example:

  • Public seller-profile information may be visible to marketplace visitors.
  • Listings and listing photographs are publicly displayed.
  • Buyers and sellers can see messages exchanged with one another.
  • Sellers may receive buyers' shipping information when necessary to fulfill purchases.
  • Reviews and ratings may be displayed publicly.

Trail Closet seeks to limit public profile information to information reasonably appropriate for operating the marketplace.

Service Providers

We may provide information to companies that perform services on our behalf, including providers of:

  • Hosting and cloud infrastructure
  • Database services
  • Authentication
  • File and image storage
  • Payment processing
  • Seller payouts
  • Email delivery
  • Analytics
  • Advertising measurement
  • Security and fraud prevention

  • Other technical and operational services

These providers receive information as reasonably necessary to provide their services to Trail Closet.

Legal, Safety, and Enforcement Disclosures

Certain disclosures associated with advertising and analytics technologies may be considered a "sale," "sharing," or use for "targeted advertising" under some state privacy laws even when no money is exchanged for personal information.

Where applicable law gives users the right to opt out of these practices, Trail Closet will provide an appropriate method for exercising that right.

Trail Closet will implement consent or privacy-choice mechanisms where required by applicable law.

Because Trail Closet is a marketplace, some information you provide is intentionally public.

Do not include sensitive personal information in listings, photographs, seller biographies, reviews, or other fields intended for public display.

13. Data Retention

Trail Closet retains information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Closing or terminating an account does not necessarily result in immediate deletion of all information associated with the account.

Trail Closet may retain information after account closure when reasonably necessary to:

  • Complete or document transactions
  • Maintain financial, tax, and accounting records
  • Resolve returns, refunds, chargebacks, and disputes
  • Prevent fraud and abuse
  • Investigate safety or policy violations
  • Maintain support and moderation records
  • Enforce agreements

Transaction histories, order records, messages associated with transactions or disputes, reports, moderation records, and certain financial records may therefore remain after an account is closed.

When information is no longer reasonably necessary, Trail Closet may delete or de-identify it, subject to applicable law and technical limitations such as backup retention.

Trail Closet will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

Where Trail Closet uses non-essential analytics or advertising technologies and applicable law requires a choice, Trail Closet may provide controls allowing users to manage those technologies.

Necessary technologies used to provide authentication, security, checkout, fraud prevention, or other essential Service functionality may not be subject to the same opt-out controls as optional technologies.

Third-party providers may also offer their own privacy and advertising controls.

Trail Closet is intended for adults.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or transact through Trail Closet.

Trail Closet does not knowingly permit children under 18 to create marketplace accounts.

If we learn that an account was created by someone who does not meet our age requirement, we may close the account and take appropriate steps concerning associated information.

Trail Closet may contain links to or interact with third-party websites, applications, and services.

This Privacy Policy describes Trail Closet's practices and does not govern the independent privacy practices of third parties.
